Unveiling Comma Fraser

In the vibrant neighborhood of Fraserhood, Comma Fraser opened its doors to new tenants. This marked a significant milestone for Rize as their first purpose-built project under their rental-division, Comma Properties. The project offers a diverse mix of 104 homes and 13,500 square feet of commercial retail space.

As a long-term partner with Rize, we collaborated with the team on developing a communications and marketing campaign that highlighted the unique offerings of Comma Fraser. Our work included developing out-of-home collateral, creating content for both organic and paid digital campaigns, and media relations.

Wesgroup Builds the Largest Rooftop Solar Project in B.C. on Delta Warehouse

We’re thrilled to reveal our first project with our new client, Wesgroup Properties!

Wesgroup, one of Western Canada’s biggest private real estate companies, has completed construction of the largest rooftop solar power project ever built in B.C. Located atop a warehouse in Delta that was also built by Wesgroup, the solar array is arranged to form the logo of building tenant, Lululemon.

The solar array’s 2,592 solar panels have a capacity of 1.2 megawatts and produce enough electricity to power the equivalent of 100 homes. The array is the size of four NHL-size hockey rinks and is as large as it could be under BC Hydro’s net-metering requirements.

The completion of this solar project is one of many initiatives that Wesgroup has taken over the years to enhance the sustainability of its developments. In the past five years, 1,200 Wesgroup-built homes have achieved Built Green or LEED Gold standards and, of those homes, 68 per cent of the construction waste has been recycled.

YVR's Annual Employee Event, Creative Connections

We recently had the opportunity to work with our client, Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR) to organize and produce their annual employee event. Held at Vancouver Convention Centre with the theme Creative Connections, it was a vibrant and engaging experience for all guests who attended. The evening was filled with exciting activations, music, and food that made it an unforgettable experience.

Some of the highlights of the event included live mural painting, a digital graffiti wall and button maker, a breakdance performance, giant paint by numbers, a 360 video booth, a photo booth, music by DeeJay Juice, giant yard games, and a diverse food menu with a signature mocktail by Vancouver Convention Centre.

We helped YVR with the creative theme, booking activations, and overall event planning. The activations provided a wonderful opportunity for guests to engage and connect with each other while having fun and exploring their creative sides. It was a great way to celebrate the hard work and dedication of the employees and create lasting memories.

Here are some photos from the event:

GWL Realty Advisors Officially Opens 33-storey, AAA office tower, Vancouver Centre II

It’s been a busy and exciting month with events as our clients, GWL Realty Advisors, officially opened the much-anticipated Vancouver Centre II (VCII).

Located at 733 Seymour Street, Vancouver Centre II is the evolution of the Vancouver Centre complex, which includes Scotia Tower and Vancouver Centre Mall. Together, the two Vancouver Centre towers form one of the city’s most amenity-rich, spacious, and sustainable office developments.

For VCII, GWL Realty Advisors commissioned a work of public art from renowned Vancouver artist, Douglas Coupland. Spawn is a 30-foot stainless steel salmon that swims through the air above VCII’s atrium. Coupland says, “mythologically, fish represent the soul. What is Vancouver’s soul? We are lucky to live in the city we do, but it’s a privilege, not a right to be here. Part of that privilege is a pact between us and nature - that we nurture it alongside our metropolitan lives, and that we never think of ourselves as being the more important side of the equation.”

VCII has been certified as SmartScore Platinum and WiredScore Gold, and the project team is also pursuing WELL Gold certification and LEED Platinum certification. As such, VCII is an industry leading building that offers occupants exceptional comfort, meets these standards of sustainability, and has advanced digital infrastructure and the capacity to meet the evolving needs of the future.

We helped GWL Realty Advisors celebrate the grand opening with an event, ribbon cutting ceremony and media relations outreach.

Welcome to Elettra, Leana!

We are pleased to welcome Leana Santos to our team at Elettra.

Leana Santos has joined Elettra Communications as Account Manager, specializing in events, digital, and marketing communications.

During her final year in the Public Relations program at MacEwan University, Leana seized an opportunity to move to the West Coast to complete her practicum at a major film studio in Santa Monica, California. She assisted with international marketing campaigns for one of the highest grossing films in 2014, The Hunger Games — Mockingjay: Part 1.

Leana moved back to her hometown of Edmonton, Alberta after her summer in California to pursue a career in marketing and events, working in the non-profit sector. However, her love for the West Coast never faded. A couple of years later she spearheaded an annual fan convention for a hit sci-fi show filmed in Vancouver which united loyal fans and nearly the entire cast in Hollywood North.

In 2022, Leana made the permanent move to Vancouver to join Elettra as Account Manager. Leana is excited to bring her event planning, PR, and marketing skills to the team and help clients execute their vision.

Outside of work, you can find Leana at the park with her dog, at the VIP theatre watching the latest movie, or at the gym.

Harbour Link Shows It Delivers the Goods With Brand-New Website

As one of the leading providers of drayage, transloading and off-dock container services in the Lower Mainland, Harbour Link wanted to create a brand-new website that would highlight the company’s professionalism, modernity and embrace of technology.

The Elettra team started by reviewing Harbour Link’s existing website with the client, identifying what needed to stay and what could be improved upon. From there, we reorganized the website structure to make it easier for users to navigate and find what they need. We then went through each page of the website, removed outdated or irrelevant content, and condensed and updated the remaining content where appropriate. We also added in new functionalities like an interactive map and driving directions to provide even more value to users.

Throughout the website redesign process, care was taken to ensure that the new website’s content and design mirrored the aesthetic and messaging that we had already developed for Harbour Link’s other promotional materials. The client’s feedback was sought at various stages of the project and incorporated into the final version of the website.

In the end, the client was proud of their new, modern website and received many compliments on it from their customers and partners.

Putting Fresh Wind in the Sails of BC Sailing’s Website

As the provincial sport authority for sailing in British Columbia, BC Sailing wanted a new website that would serve as an information hub for sailors, instructors, officials and other members of the sailing community.

The Elettra team sat down with various members of BC Sailing’s executive team and board of directors to learn about their objectives for the new site, how they wanted to use it, and what they liked and didn’t like about their old site. Care was taken to understand how the sailing community was using the old website and what expectations they and other stakeholders had for the new website.

Elettra then designed a new website that took all of this into account. The website’s structure was overhauled so that information is presented in a way that better reflects the organization’s objectives and makes it easier for users to find what they need. Content was condensed and refined to make it clearer and easier to read. New features and functionalities were added to provide greater utility to users and make it easier for BC Sailing to manage.

The new website was well received by the BC Sailing and the sailing community – especially in the context of the pandemic, where online communication and the timely flow of information have become all the more important.

New Vancouver Centre II drone video for GWL Realty Advisors

During an exceptionally wet fall, we lucked out with a couple of beautiful days for the filming of a Vancouver Centre II (VCII) 'update' video for our client, GWL Realty Advisors.

Over four years ago, we helped GWL announce the ground-breaking of Vancouver Centre II, a 33-storey AAA office tower at 753 Seymour Street in downtown Vancouver. And today, this building is nearing completion, with plans to welcome tenants into the building this summer.

The goal of this video was to show off the building's beautiful design, its incredible amenities, and the fact that it is progressing and near completion.

As referenced in the video, VCII's occupants will have access to many attractive amenities, such as the 29th floor Skyview Deck, a stunning outdoor terrace and event space with sweeping views of the city. As well as a private state-of-the-art fitness facility and yoga studios with change rooms, showers, and end-of-trip cycling facilities.

The tower will also have several smart-building features, such as automatic parkade gates that recognize license plates, a hands-free elevator, and much more. And to top it off, it's designed to meet LEED Platinum, WELL and Wired specifications.

This video was done with our video production partner – 44th Element Films.
